Somjai Phansiri

Chiang Mai, TH

"I brought in my father's old Seiko — it had sat in a drawer for at least fifteen years. Khun Prayut was very straightforward about what it needed and what it didn't. The movement restoration took about three weeks and when I got it back it was running to within a few seconds a day. The written record they gave me was more detailed than I expected."

Chiang Mai (expat)

"Had the crystal replaced on a diver I wear most days. Quick to get an appointment, and the gasket was replaced at the same time which they'd mentioned during the initial check. The pressure test result was shown to me before I paid. Took about five working days. Good value for the scope of work."

Nara Kiatsakul

Chiang Rai, TH

"I drove down from Chiang Rai specifically because someone had recommended them for older movements. I wasn't sure if my watch was worth restoring — they gave me an honest health check first and explained the options clearly. Chose to go ahead with the full restoration. Took the time they said it would. Happy I made the trip."

Pawinee Tantisuk

Chiang Mai, TH

"Brought in a dress watch I hadn't worn in years. The health check was worth doing by itself — I learned it was running about 45 seconds fast a day, which I hadn't noticed. They serviced the movement and now it's much more accurate. Anchalee explained everything in Thai which made the whole process easier."

Bangkok, visiting CM

"I left a watch with a scratched crystal during a visit to Chiang Mai. The case refinishing and new crystal arrived back in Bangkok by registered post within two weeks, packaged carefully. Communication throughout was clear. The scratch on the bezel I thought they might address wasn't touched — they explained why before I'd even asked, which I appreciated."

Wanchai Charoenwong

Lampang, TH

"My grandfather's pocket watch had been in a box for decades. I wasn't expecting much — just wanted to know if it could be made to work again. Khun Prayut sourced a mainspring that matched the original and the movement now runs. The service record he gave me listed the calibre number and part specifications, which I've kept with the watch."

Case Studies

Three watches, three journeys

A 1970s Swiss automatic, not worn in twelve years

Challenge

The owner inherited the watch from her uncle. It hadn't run in over a decade, the crystal was clouded with fine scratches, and no one knew whether the movement was intact or had been previously opened.

Approach

A health check confirmed the movement had never been opened. The heritage restoration package was agreed — full disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication. The crystal was replaced as part of the cosmetic work.

Outcome

Movement running within +8 seconds per day. Crystal clear. Total time: 3.5 weeks. The owner now wears it regularly and has a service record to keep with the watch.

A sport diver with a heavily scratched mineral crystal

Challenge

Three years of daily wear had left the crystal hard to see through clearly. The owner also wasn't sure whether the watch was still water-resistant after a crown had been replaced elsewhere.

Approach

Crystal was too far gone for polishing — a replacement was fitted. The gasket was found to be slightly degraded; both crystal and tube gaskets were replaced. A pressure test was performed before the case was sealed.

Outcome

Watch returned water-resistant to rated depth. Crystal clear. Total time: 6 working days. The owner received a test certificate alongside the standard service record.

A vintage pocket watch with a broken mainspring

Challenge

A pocket watch from the 1940s with a broken mainspring. Parts for movements of this age are not stocked locally and sourcing from abroad carries the risk of receiving unsuitable or poorly matched components.

Approach

Calibre identified, mainspring dimensions measured. A compatible spring was sourced from a specialist supplier in Europe over approximately two weeks. Full cleaning and lubrication performed during the wait.

Outcome

Watch running. Accuracy reasonable for the movement's age. Total time: 4 weeks (including part lead time). Owner received a record including mainspring specifications for any future reference.
